SOU Outlasts Eastern

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Women’s Soccer was back in action Saturday evening as they took on the Raiders of Southern Oregon University. The Raiders ultimately took the match by a score of 1-0.

The first half of the match saw limited scoring opportunities, with both teams showing strong defensive efforts. Southern Oregon broke the deadlock at the 12:39 mark when Emily Hyde scored an unassisted goal, giving the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Eastern Oregon racked up five shots in the half with four of them being on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. After 45 minutes of play the Mountaineers found themselves trailing 1-0.

Eastern Oregon looked to bounce back in the second half and had multiple opportunities on goal but were unable to sneak one past SOU goalkeeper Ashlynn Hernandez as she finished the match with eight saves. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half, proving the first half goal by Hyde to be the decider as the Raiders took the match by a score of 1-0.
