TACOMA, Wash. – Eastern Oregon women’s lacrosse was unable to come out on top in Tacoma, falling 19-8 to Puget Sound.
Despite the final score, the Mountaineers put together a very competitive final period, tying the Loggers 4-4.
In terms of statistics, Puget Sound maintained control throughout the match, outshooting Eastern Oregon 34-23 and securing 14 draw controls.
Maya Sheklow and Cat Schilli led Puget Sound’s offensive charge, each contributing 7 goals to their team’s total. They were supported by Maggie Ott, Adie Bruce, Mimi Carrier-Berndt, and Bailey Fuhrmann, who collectively added 5 more goals to Puget Sound’s side of the scoreboard.
Claire Bever led the Mounties with 3 goals, while Saydee Hetrick and Maddy Woodruff each added 2 goals of their own. Red Pratt got on the board as well, scoring early in the 4th period.
Eastern Oregon’s offense found some rhythm through 3 assists from Hetrick, with Jade McCoy, Woodruff, and Bever all setting up teammates as well.
Eastern Oregon will look to regroup on March 16th when they host Corban University at 1:00 p.m.
