CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University’s softball team continues to showcase its dominance on the diamond as two of its standout players have been recognized by the Cascade Collegiate Conference for their exceptional performances. Katelynn Evans and Kaylie Hoskins have each been named the Rize Laboratory Softball Players of the Week in their respective categories.
Katelynn Evans, a junior outfielder hailing from Newberg, Ore., boasted an impressive .750 batting average, going 9 for 12 at the plate during the Mounties’ series sweep over Corban University. She finished the weekend with a perfect 1.000 slugging percentage, while contributing nine RBIs, scored six runs, drew two walks, and stole four bases throughout the series.
On the mound, Kaylie Hoskins secured the Rize Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week award for the third time this season. In Friday’s matchup against Corban University, Hoskins pitched a flawless complete-game no-hitter, followed by a five-inning shutout victory on Saturday, limiting the Warriors to just one hit. Hoskins recorded an impressive total of 20 strikeouts over the weekend, maintaining a perfect ERA throughout the series.
