ROSEVILLE, Calif. – The Eastern Oregon Women’s Wrestling was right back at it again Saturday as they traveled over to California to wrap up their last tournament of the year. 11 Mounties put up points for EOU but Irma Retano was the only to place.
Irma Retano was the highest finisher for EOU and finished fourth in the WWCTOC. Retano had tech falls over Samantha Memmott (Snow College) and Kadence Beck (EOU) and a decision over Taryn Evens (UCC) to give herself 10 points. Another solid showing for the Mounties was Lexie Garza who was able to win by fall three times over opponents from SWOCC, UCC and Menlo College earning 11 points.
Saturday’s action wraps up 2023 competition for the Mounties. EOU Women’s Wrestling will return to the mat for the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa on January 5 and 6.
