SALEM, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Men’s Wrestling was back in action Sunday as they traveled to Salem, Ore. to take on the Warriors of Corban University In a Cascade Collegiate Conference dual. Eastern emerged victorious as they defeated the Warriors by a score of 32-16 to improve to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in CCC duals.
Eastern started hot as Hunter Sparks of the 125-pound division secured a quick pin victory just one minute and nine seconds into the match against Brayden Boyd. The Mountaineers found themselves trailing 9-6 after a forfeit in the 133-pound division awarded the Warriors six team points and a decision loss in the 141-pound division earning Corban another three points. Eastern bounced back in a huge way, taking each of the next three matches over the Warriors, highlighted by a Michael Fox pin of Jesse Rubio in the 157-pound division, to take a 22-9 lead. Kyle Knudtson of the 184-pound division sealed the dual for the Mountaineers after taking his match over Aidan Walter by pin four minutes and 15 seconds into the match. Eastern Oregon ultimately took the dual by a final score of 32-16.
