Mounties Swept on Senior Day

LA GRANDE, Ore.- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (3-39) wrapped up CCC season play against The College of Idaho Yotes (31-16). The Yotes were able to take both games Saturday afternoon. The Yotes put up five home runs to help lift them to a 17-9 win. Game two also went to the College of Idaho as they were able to grab a handful of runs early to help them hold the lead 11-6. Eastern Oregon ended its season this weekend. They say goodbye to 14 seniors and look forward to next season.

College of Idaho hit five home runs to help lift them to a 17-9 win over the Mounties. Harrison Goyette put up his first EOU home run to get the Mounties on the board. That helped spark a big fifth and sixth inning to get the Mounties within three. The Yotes held on and grabbed five more runs to pull away. Brock Cordes put up a season high of four strikeouts for the Mounties.

The bats stayed hot for the Yotes as they rattled off 8 more hits to take game two 11-6. EOU attempted a late game rally as Austin Gerding hit a two-run home run to get the Mounties within five. The College of Idaho held on and kept EOU at just six runs. Danny Burns had three strikeouts on the mound for the Mounties today.
