HELENA, Mont. – No. 15 Eastern Oregon Softball was back in action Saturday as they took on the Saints of Carroll College. Eastern split the day with the Saints. Carroll took game one by a score of 3-0 and the Mountaineers took game two by a score of 11-2 in five innings.
GAME ONE
Eastern Oregon struggled to generate offense throughout the game, managing only three hits and failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Carroll took the lead in the sixth inning, capitalizing on an error to score two unearned runs. A RBI single from Alyssa Lybbert extended Carroll’s lead to 3-0. Carroll ultimately closed the Mounties out in the seventh to take game one by a score of 3-0.

GAME TWO
Eastern Oregon took an early first-inning lead after Truh Merriman drove in a run on a fielder’s choice. The Mountaineers exploded in the third inning, scoring seven runs to break the game open, giving EOU a 8-0 lead. Carroll managed to score a run in the third inning, but Eastern responded, adding to their lead in the fourth inning, capitalizing on errors by the Saints to score three more runs. Combined efforts from Macao Jackson and Natalie Dimitrov in the circle for the Mounties held Carroll to just two runs on five hits. Jackson earned the win, while Dimitrov provided solid relief to secure the victory.

Eastern Oregon will be back in action at home on April 19 as they will take on the Beacons of Bushnell University in a Cascade Collegiate Conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
