KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the most recent edition of the 2023 NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Rating, Eastern Oregon Women’s Volleyball team firmly secured their place in the top 5 nationally with a No. 4 ranking. Despite a shuffle among the top 5 ranked teams, Eastern Oregon remains a dominant force in the world of women’s collegiate volleyball.
Concordia (Neb.) claimed the top spot in the rankings for the first time this season, followed by Northwestern (Iowa), Indiana Wesleyan, Eastern Oregon, and Corban. Eastern Oregon, with a impressive 15-1 record, was awarded 536 points in the ranking calculation. The Mountaineers suffered their only loss of the season to Northwest two weekends ago, before rebounding with three-set sweeps over Evergreen State, Walla Walla, and Lewis-Clark State College.
The ranking process involved a panel of head coaches from across the nation’s conferences, employing a rigorous point system based on individual team rankings. Teams earn points based on their rank, with 30 points for a first-place vote, decreasing incrementally to one point for the 30th place.
