Mounties Post Successful Day at Boxer Open

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon women’s wrestling had a massive day at the 2024 Boxer Open hosted by Pacific University on Sunday. Eastern had one champion on the day and four second place finishers.

Leading the way for EOU was Irma Retano, who went 3-0 on the day with three-straight tech falls. Her 10-0 victory over Evergreen State’s Alexia Fabian earned her the top spot on the podium.

The Mountaineers had four second-place finishers. Earning runner up was Kadence Beck at 123 pounds, Lexie Garza at 136 pounds, Liv Wieber at 155 pounds, and Trinity Tafoya at 190 pounds.

EOU Women’s Wrestling will take a week off and return to action the first weekend of February when they head to Des Moines, Iowa for the Grand View Open.
