OLYMPIA, Wash. – Eastern Oregon women’s basketball held Evergreen State scoreless throughout overtime in Saturday’s conference matchup, emerging victorious with a final score of 69-60.
The Mounties held an eight-point lead going into halftime, but an impressive 22-point second quarter helped Evergreen State eventually force another period of play. The Geoducks shot a combined 0-6 from the field during overtime, with Eastern Oregon’s defense limiting Evergreen to just 36.4% shooting from the field and 22.7% from beyond the arc in the contest.
Eastern showcased a balanced offensive performance with five players scoring in double digits. Brie Holecek led the charge with an impressive 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Haley Robinett contributed 15 points to the victory. Beverly Slater also made her presence felt with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite a valiant effort from the Geoducks, highlighted by Jalyn Sackrider’s 23-point performance and Jenna Glenzel’s 17, they ultimately fell short.
Eastern Oregon will be back in action Friday, February 23, as they will take on the Warriors of Corban University, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
