ASHLAND, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon volleyball team secured a clean sweep against Southern Oregon, winning 3-0 in their clash at the Lithia Motors Pavilion in Ashland. They secured the first set 25-23, followed by a more decisive 25-15 win in the second set, and rounded off their victory with a 25-20 triumph in the third set against Southern Oregon.
Eastern Oregon’s performance was consistent throughout the match, with a team hitting percentage of .238. On the other hand, Southern Oregon struggled to find their rhythm, with a team hitting percentage of .094.
Leading the charge for Eastern Oregon was Sade Williams, who recorded 9 kills and a hit percentage of .304. Mylie Mills also stood out with an impressive hit percentage of .455, while adding 5 kills to the team’s tally. Hannah Ledgerwood played a crucial role in setting up the attacks, contributing 17 assists and adding 2 service aces. The team also showed a strong defensive front with a total of 22 block assists.
For Southern Oregon, Megan Perry andMarin Mackey both led in kills with 8 each. However, the team had 30 errors in their attack, which impacted their overall performance.
With this win, Eastern Oregon improves their season record to 18-1 and 11-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Southern Oregon now stands at 15-5 overall and 8-4 in the CCC.
The Mounties will return to action tomorrow evening when they face the Owl’s of Oregon Tech at 5:00 p.m. in Klamath Falls.
