Mounties Drop Second Game in Arizona

Prescott, AZ – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers were back in action Saturday evening at Embry-Riddle (AZ). After a delayed start time due to lightning, Embry-Riddle was able to down the Mounties in a 3-0 win.

The action began in the 22nd minute when Embry Riddle’s Alex Frances found the back of the net, giving his team the early lead. The goal came from Aviad Golan providing a pinpoint assist that Frances converted into a goal. Lucas Garcia knocked another one in for Embry Riddle’s off another Golan assist, extending their lead in the 78th minute. Shortly after, Cameron Kovats claimed one more goal for the home team in the 84th minute to seal the victory.

Eastern Oregon had it’s moments, but Embry Riddle’s defense held the Mounties to just six shots on goal throughout the match. Eric Canela made seven saves to keep his team in contention, while Faris Ceranic and Daniel Kropf each had the two on frame shots for EOU.

Eastern now moves to 0-1-2 on the season and looks ahead to their Monday morning game at 10:30 in Glendale, AZ, at Arizona Christian University to wrap up their road trip.
