WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (3-35) faced the Whitman University Blues (24-16) in a non-conference match up Tuesday afternoon. Whitman was able to take the single game of the day, 7-3. EOU looks ahead to the weekend as they face I-84 rival The College of Idaho Yotes. First pitch is set for Friday, April 28th, at 12 p.m. at Optimist Field in La Grande, Oregon.
EOU struggled to get the offense going as only three Mounties grabbed hits this afternoon. Whitman was able to put up a couple of runs early in the game to help them hold the lead. EOU attempted a rally in the eighth and ninth innings, but Whitman held on for the 7-3 win. Noah Zohn went 1-2 at the plate with two RBIs to help move the Mounties around.
