Mounties Down Owls in Four Sets

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – At the Danny Miles Court in Klamath Falls, the Eastern Oregon Mounties continued their dominant season with a 3-1 victory against the Oregon Tech Owls. The match began with the Owls showing some resistance, clinching the first set 25-23. However, the Mounties rallied back, claiming the next three sets 25-20, 25-10, and 25-23.

While both teams had their challenges in hitting efficiency throughout the game, Eastern Oregon managed an overall team hitting percentage of .156, compared to Oregon Tech’s .045.

For the Mounties, Ashton Haughton and Keira Vaughn led the offensive front, each recording 15 kills. Haughton also showcased her blocking skills with 8 block assists, contributing significantly to the team’s total of 18 block assists. Mylie Mills followed closely with a .250 hitting percentage, adding 5 kills and leading in blocks with a solo and 6 block assists. Hannah Ledgerwood continued her playmaking role, creating 18 assists,

On the Owls’ side, Willow Jacobson emerged as the top attacker, recording 12 kills with a .235 hitting percentage. Molly Grace also put up a respectable effort with 9 kills, although her hitting efficiency stood at .086. Paige Tevelde played a dual role, contributing 3 kills and 15 assists for the team. Defensively, the Owls managed 12 block assists and one solo block.

With this win, the Mounties further solidify their status as one of the top teams in the nation, improving their record to 19-1 and an impressive 12-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Meanwhile, Oregon Tech’s season struggles continue as they drop to 7-13 overall and 5-8 in the CCC.

Eastern Oregon will return to La Grande to face The Evergreen State University this upcoming Friday at 7:00 p.m.
