Mountaineers Season Opener Suspended Due to Rain

REDDING, Calif. – The highly anticipated season opener for Mountaineer Baseball took an unexpected turn as rain forced the suspension of the game against Simpson.

Eastern Oregon found themselves trailing 2-0 after a two-run homer from Alex Tolbert in the third inning. However, they quickly rebounded with a crucial RBI double from Joey Freitas in the 6th inning, scoring Chase Nett.

With the score set at 2-1, weather conditions worsened, leading to the suspension of play in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Both teams are committed to exploring viable options for resuming the competition tomorrow and will evaluate the possibility of continuing the game, as well as other scheduled contests tomorrow. Fans and supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on the rescheduled match.
