REDDING, Calif. – The highly anticipated season opener for Mountaineer Baseball took an unexpected turn as rain forced the suspension of the game against Simpson.
Eastern Oregon found themselves trailing 2-0 after a two-run homer from Alex Tolbert in the third inning. However, they quickly rebounded with a crucial RBI double from Joey Freitas in the 6th inning, scoring Chase Nett.
With the score set at 2-1, weather conditions worsened, leading to the suspension of play in the bottom of the 7th inning.
