LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon Women’s Lacrosse returned home on Saturday to take on the Warriors of Corban University. The Warrior offense clicked on all cylinders, propelling them to a 20-7 victory over the Mountaineers.
Maddy Woodruff struck first for Eastern Oregon, but Corban quickly responded with goals from Kailyn Dawkins, Elsie Marineau, Naomi Rauch, and Annette Romano. Despite Eastern Oregon’s efforts to stay in contention, Corban’s relentless offensive pressure allowed them to establish an early lead.
Corban continued to push the pace offensively in the second quarter, with Sydney Davis, Rauch, and Marineau leading the charge. Eastern Oregon managed to find the back of the net a few times, courtesy of Claire Bever and Saydee Hetrick, but the Mountaineers found themselves trailing 13-4 at the half.
The second half showed to be similar as Corban remained on the attack offensively. Corban’s balanced offensive attack and solid defensive performance carried them to a decisive 20-7 win over Eastern.
The Mounties will be back in action Monday, Mar.25 as they will travel to North Carolina to take on Montreat College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. EST.
