Morgan and Vaughn Propel Mounties Past Yotes

LA GRANDE, Ore. – No. 3 nationally ranked Eastern Oregon University extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 3-1 victory over College of Idaho. The set scores were 25-20, 20-25, 25-11, and 25-14 in favor of EOU. While College of Idaho was held to hitting percentages of .061 on the night, Eastern Oregon posted a hitting percentages of .238 and peaked with .400 percentage in the third set.

Eastern Oregon had a strong showing offensively, with standout performances from Keira Vaughn, who tallied 14 kills on a .320 hitting percentage, and Madison Morgan, who notched another 14 kills on an impressive .571 hitting. Mylie Mills also contributed a solid performance with 6 kills and a stellar .667 hitting percentage, while also registering 7 blocks. Alexis McMurtrey and Hannah Ledgerwood distributed a combined 43 assists on the night. 

On the other side, College of Idaho fought hard with Janae Rayborn leading their offensive effort with 10 kills and a .241 hitting percentage. Haley McUne followed with 9 kills and contributed 14 digs, making her a significant presence on both offense and defense.

Eastern Oregon Volleyball now boasts a 22-1 overall record and a dominant 15-1 in the Cascade Conference, with College of Idaho moving to 13-11 overall and 11-5 in the CCC. The Mounties will travel to Portland in order to face the Knights of Warner Pacific on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
