KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University Men’s Cross Country Team remains steady at the #5 spot in the latest NAIA Men’s Cross Country Top 25 rankings, announced this week.
Eastern Oregon University continues to impress in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Top 25, securing their position within the top five. While Indiana Wesleyan clinched the top spot with 18 first-place votes, Eastern Oregon held steadfast, rounding out the top five alongside notable teams such as The Master’s (Calif.) and Milligan (Tenn.) at No. 2 and 3 respectively, and Saint Mary (Kan.).
Eastern Oregon’s retention of their ranking is indicative of their impressive performances this season. The team started the season with a No. 2 ranking in the CCC Preseason Poll and an original No. 9 ranking in the NAIA Coaches Preseason Poll.
In the previous competition, standout performances came from Justin Ash, Hunter Nichols, Cristian Mendoza, Thomas Ogden, and Winston Telford, which played a pivotal role in the team’s victory amongst 24 other NAIA and NCAA teams. The team also held the distinguished title of the Co-Under Armour Team of the Week from Sept. 25 – Oct. 1, a commendation announced by the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Eastern Oregon women’s cross country is edging closer to the national rankings as well. The team is currently sitting just one spot outside of the Top 25 and received 103 votes in the most recent poll.
Up next, the Eastern Oregon University Men’s Cross Country Team is gearing up to compete on October 14th in Estacada, Oregon, at Lewis and Clark College. With the current momentum, fans and supporters eagerly await the team’s next performance.
