Men’s Cross Country Ranks No. 6 in Recent NAIA Standings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University Men’s Cross Country Team dropped one spot to No. 6 spot in the latest NAIA Men’s Cross Country Top 25 rankings, announced this week.

Eastern Oregon University continues to impress in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Top 25, securing their spot in the top 10. Indiana Wesleyan remained at the top spot with 18 first-place votes, while Milligan (Tenn.), The Master’s (Calif.), College of Idaho, and Saint Mary rounded out the top five.

The Mountaineers have competed in two races since the last rankings. Eastern finished fifth at the LC State Invitational on Oct. 14 and second at the Sasquatch Open in Spokane, Wash. on Oct. 25.

“I am very pleased with where the men are sitting headed into the Conference meet,” said head coach Ben Welch. “The guys are currently healthy and training well, so the Conference meet should be fun.”

The Women’s team continues to fall just outside of the national rankings, receiving 82 votes. “While it would be nice to have fought their way back into the top 25, sitting at 26 is a fair rating and hopefully will add fuel to their fires heading into the Conference meet on Friday.”

The Mountaineers will be back in action on November 3rd as they travel to Caldwell, Idaho for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
