McMurtrey Recognized as CCC Setter of the Week

Corvallis, Ore – Eastern Oregon University’s standout, Alexis McMurtrey, has been distinguished as the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Setter of the Week.

Throughout an undefeated weekend, McMurtrey orchestrated the Mountaineers’ offense recording 82 assists over 4 different matches. She kicked off the Big Sky Challenge by delivering a 28-assist performance against the No. 18 ranked College of Saint Mary. McMurtrey’s playmaking ability was once again displayed against Montana State University-Northern, where she charted 21 assists in just three sets, steering the Mountaineers to an impressive hitting percentage of .294.

Exhibiting both consistency and a razor-sharp acumen on the court, she boasted an average of 5.86 assists per set. McMurtrey’s multifaceted contributions – from setting to digging, serving, and even attacking – have been instrumental in the Mountaineers’ triumphs over the weekend.

McMurtrey is familiar with such accolades, having secured the honor four times in the past three seasons. This distinction speaks volumes about her expertise and the impact she has on the court.
