McLean Morehead Honored as CCC Volleyball Coach of the Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Head Coach Kaki McLean Morehead, at the helm of the Eastern Oregon volleyball program, was named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year this Thursday.

Under Morehead’s guidance, the Mounties have clinched their second consecutive CCC regular-season championship, securing an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament this season. EOU currently leads the CCC with an impressive .070 opponent hitting percentage and an average of 2.68 blocks per set. Additionally, they stand second in Kills (13.35 Avg/S), Assists (12.31 Avg/S), and Aces (1.67 Avg/S). The Mounties boast a remarkable 28-1 overall record, with only one loss throughout the year. This dominant performance earned four Mounties well-deserved spots on the all-conference roster, solidifying their status as regular-season champions.

“I am so incredibly humbled to be named coach of the year,” shared Mclean Morehead. “To me this award means that my team has continued to improve, persevere, adapt, and do the work. I am so grateful to have a team and players who are willing to go the extra mile every single day and that makes my job that much easier.”

Make sure to join the Mounties for this year’s CCC Volleyball Championships on Friday and Saturday at Quinn Coliseum. For further updates, keep an eye on our website and social media channels.
