COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The Eastern Oregon University women’s volleyball team continued their winning streak with a resounding victory over Walla Walla, solidifying their position as the newly crowned CCC Regular Season Champions. Saturday’s win also signified a remarkable milestone for head coach Kaki McLean Morehead, who celebrated her 400th career victory. As Eastern Oregon volleyball’s winningest coach of all time, McLean Morehead continues to expand her illustrious coaching legacy and add more achievements to her impressive resume.
The Mounties demonstrated why they are the No. 3 ranked team in the country on Windemuth Court, winning the match in straight sets with scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-14. Leading the offensive charge was Madison Morgan, registering 10 kills and followed closely by Kiauna Mack with 7. Morgan not only led the game in kills, but also did so with an efficient .533 attacking percentage. Setter Hannah Ledgerwood orchestrated the offense seamlessly, dishing out 13 assists.
In the serving and blocking departments, Eastern Oregon maintained their dominance. Hailey Arritola and Hannah Ramage served up aces, and the team collectively recorded 7 aces during the match. Their excellent blocking was highlighted by Mylie Mills’ two blocks.
The Mounties will look ahead to the upcoming Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament, set to improve upon their 28-1 overall record and an impressive 21-1 conference record with another CCC Tournament Championship.
