CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon’s sophomore standout, Garrett Hawkes, has been named to the Cascade Collegiate Conference All-Conference team for the 2023-24 season.
Hawkes has been a key contributor to the Mountaineers’ in his first season in La Grande, pushing the teams offense. The sophomore scored 484 points with an average of 17.3 points per game, maintaining a field goal percentage of 43.3% and a three-point percentage of 37.3%. On the defensive end, he recorded a total of 45 steals and 11 blocks throughout the season. Hawkes also secured 128 rebounds, averaging 4.6 boards per game.
Hawkes’ has drawn the conference’s attention throughout his debut as a Mountie, having been named CCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week twice during the season. These accolades came after impressive displays against formidable opponents, including a 38-point offensive explosion against the No. 3 ranked Arizona Christian University and a 30-point, 7-rebound performance in a victory over Multnomah.
