CORVALLIS, Ore.- The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Friday the members of the All-Conference team and the Golden Glove Award winners. Eastern second baseman, Joey Freitas earned the Golden Glove Award for his excellence in the field.
“Joey is relentless in his preparation and holds himself as well as others to a high standard, especially at our defensive practices,” Head Coach Kyle Treadway said. “It is no surprise that he was able to win this award and we as a program are extremely proud of him!”
Freitas earned the gold glove honor after an impressive season at second base. Freitas held a .976 fielding percentage and committed just four errors in 48 starts for the Mountaineers this season.
“Joey is an All-Conference-level player. Well deserved for a young man who is a great teammate with a strong work ethic!” Treadway added.
Freitas is the first Mountie to win a golden glove award since the program’s reinstatement in 2021.
