Four Mounties Earn AVCA All-Region Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The recognitions continue to pile up for the Eastern Oregon Volleyball team, with Mylie Mills, Sade Williams, Madison Morgan, and Head Coach Kaki McLean Morehead each earning esteemed AVCA All-District Honors in volleyball.

Mylie Mills emerged as the Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Region for her outstanding performance this season, claiming the same awards within the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Mills currently holds a .308 hitting percentage and 119 total blocks.

Sade Williams earned a spot on the All-Region First Team, boasting 294 kills and 300 digs this season. Williams was previously named to the CCC First Team and continues to lead this Mountaineer team offensively in her fifth season on the squad.

Madison Morgan was named an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention for her contributions this season following her CCC First Team honor earlier this month. Morgan’s notable achievements include an impressive 218 kills, 73 blocks, and a .262 hitting percentage on the year.

“So proud of these three and the recognition they’re earning. What they achieve is greatly reliant on the team around them. Without all the pieces of the puzzle that make up our team this year, they couldn’t do what they do,” said Head Coach Kaki McLean Morehead about the All-Region members. “I am truly blessed to have the kids that I do…with the work ethic, grit, and discipline to do hard things every day.”

McLean Morehead was also named AVCA All-Region Northwest Coach of the Year, marking her second consecutive year winning the award. Morehead led the Mounties to yet another CCC regular-season and tournament championship this season, currently competing at the NAIA National Tournament with a dominant 32-1 overall record.
