KANSAS CITY, Mo. -The NAIA has officially announced the qualifiers for the 2024 Women’s Wrestling National Championships, with Eastern Oregon holding five talented athletes among the selected qualifiers.
Leading the charge is Irma Retano, who secured an Automatic Qualifier spot in the 116-pound category after a second place performance at the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament. Alongside her, Liv Wieber also earned an Automatic Qualifier spot in the 155-pound category.
Paige Chafin earned a well-deserved Conference Wild Card bid, while Anna Rodriguez and Trinity Tafoya each received National At-Large bids, rounding out the representation of Eastern Oregon at the national stage.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference receiving the highest number of qualifiers for the NAIA Championships, totaling 53.
The 2024 NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championships will be hosted at the Harold Newman Arena in Jamestown, N.D. This second annual championship event will feature four sessions and run from March 8-9, showcasing the best female wrestlers from across the nation.
