PORTLAND, Ore. – Eastern Oregon’s volleyball team delivered a resounding 3-0 victory over Warner Pacific in Friday’s matchup. The scorelines reflect the Mounties dominant performance, favoring Eastern Oregon with set scores of 25-17, 25-9, and 25-14.
Eastern Oregon’s offense was on full display throughout the match, highlighted by their impressive .270 attack percentage. Keira Vaughn emerged as a standout performer, contributing 9 kills, while Madison Morgan showcased exceptional hitting with 7 kills and an impressive .538 hitting percentage. Ashton Haughton added 6 kills to the mix, and Mylie Mills recorded 6 kills as well, illustrating the team’s offensive balance.
The serving game proved to be another strong suit for Eastern Oregon, as they managed to accumulate 6 aces over the course of the match. Alexis McMurtrey led the team with 2 aces, and both Sade Williams and Hannah Ramage chipped in with 1 ace each, keeping the pressure on Warner Pacific throughout the contest.
Eastern Oregon’s solid defensive efforts were evident, with a total of 37 digs collectively. Sade Williams led the defensive charge with 8 digs, closely followed by Hannah Ledgerwood with 7. Madison Morgan also made a significant impact on defense with 3 blocks.
On the other side, Warner Pacific faced a formidable challenge, struggling with a -.057 attack percentage. Elizabeth Reid emerged as their top performer with 4 kills, but majority of the team found it challenging to break through Eastern Oregon’s solid defense.
With this win, Eastern Oregon’s overall record improves to 23-1, with a Cascade Conference record of 16-1, while Warner Pacific’s record now stands at 1-23, with a conference record of 1-16. The Mountaineers will stay in Portland until their matchup tomorrow evening against Multnomah University beginning at 5:00 p.m.
