EOU Volleyball Handles No. 19 Southern Oregon

La Grande, Ore. – Inside a packed Quinn Coliseum, Eastern Oregon University’s women’s volleyball team stormed the court and quickly dismantled the Raiders of Southern Oregon. The Mounties won three consecutive sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-16) earning their fourth straight sweep. This win elevates Eastern Oregon’s record to 9-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The No. 19 ranked Raiders fell to 8-2 on the year with a 1-1 CCC standing.

\Madison Morgan steered the charge with 8 kills off 22 attempts, securing a .273 hitting percentage. The Mountaineers’ fortress-like defense shined throughout the contest, recording 18 total blocks and 6 blocks per set. Eastern Oregon’s service game also set them apart, with Adrienne Washington dazzling fans with 4 service aces.

For the Raiders, Marin Mackey navigated Southern Oregon’s attack with 11 kills. However, the team struggled with consistency, tallying a modest hitting percentage of .032 over three sets.
