LEWISTON, Idaho – Eastern Oregon won its 15th consecutive match Friday, beating Lewis-Clark State to a 3-1 score at the P1FCU Activity Center. The Mounties demonstrated their dominance with scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-22, and 25-12 in each of the four sets, boosting their season record to 27-1, including an impressive 20-1 in the conference.
Eastern Oregon’s offensive firepower was highlighted by Keira Vaughn, who led the team with a whopping 19 kills at a .500 hitting efficiency. Ashton Haughton also played a crucial role, contributing 8 kills, while Madison Morgan and Kiauna Mack added 8 and 6 kills, respectively. Sade Williams, reigning CCC Attacker of the Week, offered both offensive and defensive support with 6 kills and 16 digs.
The Mounties’ efficient play extended to their setting and defensive efforts, as Hannah Ledgerwood dished out 23 assists and Hailey Arritola contributed 16 digs. Eastern Oregon’s well-rounded performance was further evident in their serving and blocking, accumulating 7 aces and 10 blocks during the match.
On the opposing side, Lewis-Clark State gave a commendable effort, with Juliauna Forgach Aguilar leading their offense with 14 kills. Gianna Anderson added 9 kills to the team’s tally. Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t match the overall prowess of Eastern Oregon.
EOU will travel to Walla Walla University for Saturday’s contest, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
