LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon women’s basketball secured a solid victory over Corban, finishing with a final score of 81-62 in their matchup on Saturday evening.
The Mounties got off to a quick offensive start in the contest, scoring 26 points in the first quarter. Despite a slower second quarter and an offensive push by the Warriors in the fourth, Eastern Oregon extended their lead to hang on for the victory. The home team did an impressive job sharing the ball, finishing the night with 21 total assists. Beverly Slater led the Mounties with five assists to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds.
Eastern Oregon’s offense demonstrated efficiency throughout the game, led by standout performances from Brie Holecek with 21 points and Haley Robinett with 14 points. The Mountaineers maintained control from start to finish, paced by Macie Elliott contributing 10 points and an impressive eight-point performance off the bench from Mylie Mills.
Corban’s Autumn Agnew and Maddie Godwin led their team’s offensive efforts with 20 points each, nearly scoring as much as the rest of the team combined.
With this win, Eastern Oregon advances to a record of 19-6 overall and 15-6 in the CCC, looking to finish the regular season strong. Tomorrow marks Senior Day for the Mounties, recognizing four seniors who have played a large role in leading this team to success over the past couple of years. Action is set to tip off at 3:00 p.m. against Bushnell at Quinn Coliseum, with Senior Day commencing during halftime of the men’s game.
