EOU Men’s Soccer Concludes First Game in Arizona with a Draw

Surprise, AZ – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers began their three game road trip down in Arizona, facing the Spirit of Ottawa University Arizona. Each team battled it out defensively as neither found the back of the net.

The Mounties racked up 12 shots, three of them from Junior Edgar Romero Perez, but they could not get one past OUAZ keeper Christian Ortiz, who finished with three saves. It was a scrappy game as five yellow cards were handed out. A lockdown defense led by Junior keeper Eric Canela’s six saves allowed EOU to walk away with a tie, giving them a 0-0-2 start on the season.

Standout Performances

Mounties look ahead to the rest of their road trip as they will face Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, on Saturday, September  2nd at 7:30 P.M.
