CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference unveiled its 2024 Baseball Preseason Poll on Tuesday, showcasing the anticipated standings for the upcoming season. Positioned seventh in the preseason poll with 10 points, EOU Baseball is set to defy expectations in the first full season under the guidance of Head Coach Kyle Treadway. With the experience of last season and key roster additions, the Mounties will be looking to make some noise with the conference this upcoming season.
The Mounties have some bright spots in their returning roster, with Mario Landeros, Rogelio Gonzales, and Danny Burns ready to lead the charge and provide the experience for the team. EOU has also secured a promising batch of newcomers. Chase Nett, Tyler Balkenbush, and Jake Herrera are already showing great potential in pre-season practices. Their integration into the program will be crucial in pushing Mountie Baseball forward in the upcoming year.
The 2024 CCC Baseball Championship Tournament is slated for May 4-6 and promises intense competition, with the regular season champions playing host. The triumphant team from this tournament will secure an automatic spot in the NAIA Baseball World Series.
Eastern Oregon is set to open its season against Simpson University in Redding, California on January 27th.
