Eastern Oregon Volleyball Rebounds With Win Over Evergreen State

OLYMPIA, Wash. – In the opening set between Eastern Oregon and Evergreen State, both teams began evenly matched at 5-5. TESC initially pulled ahead with a 10-5 lead. However, EOU staged a comeback, fueled by Hannah Ramage’s three service aces and Keira Vaughn’s relentless attacks. Overcoming their early deficit, the Mountaineers dominated the latter part of the set, outscoring the Geoducks 20-6 to take it 25-16.

The second set saw EOU establish an early 6-2 lead, thanks to standout plays from Sade Williams and Ashton Haughton, often facilitated by Alexis McMurtrey’s assists. While ESC struggled with errors, they found some success with two kills each from Sophia Scroggins and Jadyn Kallenberger’s. With the offensive presence of players like Keira Vaughn and Madison Morgan, EOU maintained their edge and ended the set 25-12.

Eastern Oregon overcame Evergreen 25-19 in the third and final set, bolstered by dominant performances from Alexis McMurtrey and Kiauna Mack. Eastern Oregon raced to an early 4-0 lead and, despite facing pushback, maintained momentum throughout. Mack stood out with 4 pivotal kills, while McMurtrey’s serves and assists kept the team ahead.
