Eastern Oregon Softball Ranks 15th in NAIA Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon Softball currently ranks No. 15 in the nation, according to the second official NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Rankings. Wednesday’s rankings come on the heels of a weekend that saw the Mounties split their series with the University of British Columbia.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference has been well represented in the national rankings, with four programs within the Top 25 and British Columbia receiving votes. The Mountaineers currently sit second in the CCC standings with a 7-2 conference record, 15-5 overall on the season.

The NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Rankings, determined by a panel of head coaches representing various conferences and the Continental Athletic Conference, utilize a meticulous points system. Each coach’s ranking contributes to a team’s overall points, with 30 points awarded for a first-place vote, 29 for second place, and so forth. Notably, the highest and lowest rankings for each team are discarded to ensure fairness and accuracy in the rankings. Furthermore, teams garner an additional point for each ballot they appear on, further refining the rankings.

Next weekend, Eastern Oregon will look to continue their dominant season as they travel to Portland to face off against the Warner Pacific Knights.
