Eastern Oregon Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, Lo. – Even well beyond the conclusion of their season, Eastern Oregon cross country continues to be recognized as one of the premiere programs in the nation. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Mountaineer men’s and women’s cross country teams, as well as 12 individual athletes who excelled both athletically and academically.

The men’s team, with a collective GPA of 3.191, exemplifies the dedication of Eastern Oregon University student-athletes in maintaining a high standard in academics. The following individuals have been selected for their exceptional work in the classroom:

Justin Ash - Major: Rangeland Sciences

Cristian Mendoza - Major: Health & Human Performance

Hunter Nichols - Major: Business Administration

George Showers - Major: Health & Human Performance

Jonny Wind - Major: Business Administration

The women’s cross country team demonstrated an even higher academic achievement, boasting an impressive GPA of 3.579. The following student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding performances:

Kaleah Hines - Major: Anthropology/Sociology

Lauryn Mitchell - Major: Health & Human Performance

Madelyn Nichols - Major: Nursing

Ashley Treadwell - Major: General Studies-Exploratory, Pre-Nursing

Mattie Woodbury - Major: Agricultural Sciences
