LA GRANDE, Ore – Eastern Oregon was back in action Friday afternoon as they took on the Beacons of Bushnell University. Eastern ultimately secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bushnell.
The only goal of the match came in the second half when Kana Mateaki of Eastern Oregon found the back of the net at the 62:29 mark. Mateaki’s unassisted goal gave the Mountaineers a crucial 1-0 lead. EOU recorded 11 shots during the match, while Bushnell managed 7. The Beacons Lexi Bates made three saves in goal, and Kennady Flint saved four shots in goal for the Mounties.

With the win Eastern improves to 7-3-4 overall and 5-3-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Eastern Oregon will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 20 as they take on the Warriors of Corban University. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m. Following the match, this years’ six seniors will be honored for their senior night.
