SWEET HOME, Ore. – Eastern Oregon returned to action Friday as they took on the Raiders of Southern Oregon University. The Raiders ultimately took the dual by a score of 22-13 over the Mountaineers, to keep possession of the Wagon Wheel.
EOU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after Hunter Sparks of the 125-pound division secured a victory with a 4-1 decision over Vonn Fenn of Southern Oregon. Southern bounced back in a big way, taking each of the next two matches to take a 8-3 lead. The Mountaineers took the 149 pound match-up after AJ Rockwell secured an 8-5 decision over Jonathan Hernandez before the Raiders made another big push. Southern extended their lead after winning each of the next three matches to take a 19-6 lead. Eastern fought hard to get back into the dual, but in the end The Raiders took the dual by a score of 22-13.
