I am majoring in Psychology. My teachers tell me that I need be participating in internships before I graduate, but I can’t seem to find any! I’ve talked to some friends of different majors, but they are even having trouble finding internships. I love La Grande, but there just don’t seem to be many opportunities. What do you suggest?
Internships are a must in almost every major. It is essential for preparing for future careers, and to make sure that this is the degree that you do want to pursue.
That being said, it is difficult to get internships because every college student is attempting to do the same thing, and in a small town such as La Grande, things may be more difficult. You must be resourceful if you truly want an internship.
One idea is to attempt a summer internship out of town. With no school during the summer months, it is the perfect opportunity to go to a different town for an internship. Also, many people go home in the summertime, so internship opportunities in La Grande may open up, you just need to keep an eye out for them.
Do not think that you have to do an internship only in La Grande, there are so many in the world that are waiting for you, all you need to do is look for them.
