2016 Pow Wow

After 5 years, EOU’s Spring Powwow returns. This 50th anniversary event, which is coordinated by EOU’s Speel-Ya Native American Student Council and the Native American Program, begins Friday at 7:00 p.m., with multiple events throughout the day on Saturday. It will feature The Black Lodge Singers as the Host Drum alongside Emcee Fred Hill, Arena Director Kelsey Burns, Whipwoman Judy Farrow and Whipman Alan Crawford. The powwow is free for the public and will be held at EOU’s Fieldhouse. Everyone is also invited to join a free Friendship Feast at Gilbert at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The event will include nearly 30 artist vendors that will be selling Native-focused art. Grand Entries will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m., as well as on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
